Things to do in Whitby

Whitby, famous for its links with Bram Stoker's Dracula, is still a fishing port and an award winning seaside resort. A quaint coastal town on the Yorkshire coast. Whitby is home to the famous Abbey, a working harbour and old Yorkshire style buildings, with red pantile roof cottages, narrow cobbled streets and also has one of the country's best fish and chip shops. Kippers have been traditionally cured in Whitby since the 19th century in smoke houses and still to this day, you can buy fresh, locally cured kippers in the town.

Whitby is also close to the North York Moors National Park one of the finest landscapes in Britain. With miles of stunning heather, dales and wildlife in abundance. Here you can take a trip on the longest steam railway in England.

Along the coast you can discover Robin Hoods Bay and Flamborough Head and take a stroll along the Cleveland Way where you will discover towering sea cliffs, secluded beaches, grassy dales, historic buildings, archaeology, ancient woodlands and picturesque coastal villages. You'll never be short of things to do and see.
